Vybz Kartel’s Henchman Sikka Rymes Diss Intence In New Track, Intence Respond

Sikka Rymes is firing back at Intence on Vybz Kartel’s behalf.

Following an online subliminal spat with Intence aiming at Vybz Kartel, Sikka Rymes intervened to return the diss to the “Go Hard” deejay. The beef traces back to when Kartel took to social media to raise suspicions about artists who pay for streams on platforms like YouTube. Though the deejay never addressed anyone directly, Intence appeared to be responding to his statement when he suggested that he should “go to bed.”

Sikka Rymes talked to the STAR about the beef after swiftly dropping a diss track for Intence called “Dem Nuh Bad.” “I don’t know how it start, but him seh something bout mi daddy, and mi jump inna the war,” the dancehall artist said. “Kartel questioned if some artistes were buying views on YouTube, and some man tek it up on dem head and style di Teacha bout some man mus guh a dem bed. So if a man nuh call him (Intence) name, him muss guilty if him tek it up pan him head. Kartel can’t answer, so I have to answer.”

The deejay went on to explain that he was well aware of what it takes to clash in dancehall and is more than ready. “People don’t have nothing a do right now, so they have all time and ears to listen to war songs. Man born for this, so it nah tek wi no time fi rub him out,” he said. “Back in the days with my group called Elite Squad, I used to do clashes every day, so this is nothing new to me,” he continued. “Clash a part a dancehall, and people don’t have to worry about this getting violent cause we both lock up inna wi house a do music and quarantine.”

Though Sikka is inviting the clash, Intence is not interested in being a part of it. According to his manager, they are more focused on building his profile. “Right now we just a focus on building our thing,” he told the STAR. “We hear it but we nah respond. We and dem nah have nothing,” he added about Sikka Rymes’ new diss track for Intence.

According to the STAR, Intence’s lack of interest has not discouraged Sikka. Vybz Kartel’s protege says he still intends to shoot a music video for the new track – while observing social distancing and other safety precautions of course. The visuals should give the song a huge boost so let’s see if Intence will stick to his word and not respond after that.

“How” Vybz Kartel Roast Popcaan In New Song: Listen

Vybz Kartel quietly disses Popcaan on his new song “How” and barely anyone noticed.

This is the second song that Kartel released this week after dropping a new joint dedicated to his mother on Monday. Recently, the Gazanation deejay has been quietly taking shots his former protege Popcaan who he previously ousted as being a disloyal member of the Gaza over his alignment with Drake. In one of his recent songs, Kartel accused the Unruly Boss of stealing some of his styles and now on this new Dunwell Productions-produced single, he calls him bad mind.

“Judas by time you say a who that / Back fly go Cuba, wat time now Muller / Time fi you stop watch man give thanks for what you have / Red eye will blind yo or make man wine yo / How yo fi badmind yo friend wa the bloodclat do them… / Cut them off like Gillette / How yo fi badmind yo friend unni fi move and go weh / Give them a spinners with six shots Russian Roulette / Bout yo rate me yo no rate me talk yo a talk / But mi naan hear nutten just blah blah blah,” Vybz Kartel deejay over a dancehall beat.

In the lyrics, Kartel is saying that Popcaan badmind (envy) him for the things he achieved and then always talk about how much he rates (respect) Vybz Kartel, but now him Kartel stop listening to all of that and sees him for what he really is, badmind and disloyal.

During an interview back in July in the UK, Popcaan opened up about the hate that he has been getting from Vybz Kartel and the rest of the Gazanation fan base which makes up more than half the dancehall fans population in his opinion. Poppy also said that he learned from the hate that he has been experiencing and that is helping him stay on top.

“Since I’ve been around Vybz Kartel like a lot of people use to hate Vybz Kartel but he stayed on top and I learn that from him,” Popcaan explains. “That is why if Vybz Kartel hate Popcaan today I will forever be on top because I learn that from him.”

Alkaline Stops Skin Bleaching and Dancehall Fans Cosign

Alkaline may have stopped skin bleaching and dancehall fans are giving him two thumbs up.

The Vendetta boss posted a video on Instagram last night promoting an upcoming show in New Jersey. Some of his fans quickly noticed that he looked a lot darker than he did recently. “Alka a turn back black them dead ya now general,” one fan wrote, while another added, “Can’t even break down Alkaline progression. You can say “black alkaline, tattoo alkaline, bleach alkaline” it all happened in the same week.”

Alkaline started bleaching around 2014 when his career just started to blow up. Since then we’ve learned that his tattoo eyeball was fake and that he was wearing contacts as part of a scheme to fool his fans. We now learn that his skin bleaching was not permanent since the below video shows that he is getting back black. Here is a photo of Alkaline taken last month.

Vybz Kartel is another dancehall artist famous for skin bleaching but his procedure seems like a more permanent solution since he has maintained his lightness six years after being in prison. There are some recently speculations that his skin bleaching remedy may have poisoned his body and has resulted in his hospitalization a few times since his incarceration.

Vybz Kartel Appeal Trial Pushed Back To New Date

Vybz Kartel highly anticipated appeal trial has been pushed back to a new date.

The dancehall artist’s appeal trial was originally set for February 19, 2018, but the case has been pushed back to July 9th next year. Vybz Kartel team of lawyers led by Tom Tavares-Finson filed a motion asking the appeal court judges for more time to prepare for the case. The motion was approved and a new date has been agreed upon. This means that the Gazanation deejay will have to wait an additional five months to know his fate.

Three weeks has been set aside for the July appeal trial where the defense will make its case that the artist was not given a fair trial due to the numerous issues with the case such as evidence tampering and witness intimidation. The prosecution team will also make their case for the conviction to stay in place by citing the numerous evidence against the four co-accused, Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Kahira Jones, and Andre St John.

All four men are serving life imprisonment with Vybz Kartel getting the longest sentence before he gets a parole hearing. He will have to serve at least 35 years and by that time he will be 72 years old. His dancehall protege Shawn Storm and close friend Kahira Jones will have to serve 25 years before parole, while St John will have to serve 15 years minimum. The four men have been behind bars since 2011 and were convicted in 2014, which means they would have already served six years. All four men have maintained their innocence.

Despite his incarceration for half a decade, Vybz Kartel continues to dominate dancehall with his music. At one point he was under investigation by the correctional department for illegally recording music in prison. But he is still putting out a consistent supply of new music.

Popcaan Drop Video For Gangsta Anthem “El Chapo”

Popcaan drop the video for his new gangsta anthem “El Chapo” and he used the opportunity to send a clear message to his enemies.

The video clip features Popcaan living in a mansion at an undisclosed location (Kingston) just like a drug kingpin. He surrounds himself with lots of women and thugs that do his bidding. The gritty single was produced by NotNice while the video was directed by RD Studios. The also features the police commissioner issuing a statement to the media saying he will find Popcaan at all cost.

Popcaan drop the single in September and since then its become an anthem in dancehall and one of the deejay’s biggest hits this year. The Unruly Boss has had a great year in 2017 and further cementing his place as one of the greatest dancehall artists of this generation after only a decade in the game. He started out as a protege of Vybz Kartel before honing his own career and forming his own group Unruly.

Vanessa Bling On Cardi B Cosign “She always support my music”

Cardi B gave Vanessa Bling a big cosign last month when Offset drop a half a million dollar engagement ring on her finger.

Shortly after getting her ring, Cardi B posted a video showing off her 8-karat rock while listening to Vanessa Bling 2011 dancehall banger “Everything Fi Hold Him.” Bardi got a lot of shoutout from her Jamaican fan base for posting the clip and now she is getting some major props from Vanessa Bling herself.

“Cardi B always support my music even before she buss and get big in the music business,” Bling said. “I rate her and love how she’s a true hustler. She’s a real girl and I’m glad for her. I love how she never give up and always kept pushing for greatness.”

Cardi B is currently working on a collaboration with Vanessa Bling’s former mentor Vybz Kartel. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper was in Jamaica last week shooting a new music video with Rvssian and doing some recording for her upcoming album. Do you think Cardi B and Vanessa Bling should work on a collaboration?

Bling has been touring extensively Europe and Africa over the past couple of weeks and so far she said the journey has been great. She posted a pic of herself yesterday in Jerusalem praying. “Today is a happy day for me #Jerusalem this is where my Father was put to rest I only see this place on TV Christmas time. Now am here DEAR LORD I THANK YOU,” she wrote.

Alkaline Overthrows Vybz Kartel For Top Dancehall Song This Week

Alkaline has overthrows Vybz Kartel for the top dancehall song spot this week.

Vybz Kartel’s “Mhm Hm” was the leading song in dancehall at least until this week when it was overthrown by Alkaline’s hot new single “Suave.” The rivalry between Kartel and Alkaline is showing no signs of slowing down and this can only means more hit songs for their respective fans. This week, the Vendetta leader seems to have the upper hand with two new singles bubbling on the dancehall airwaves.

Since it’s released a week ago, Suave clocked 1.2 million views on YouTube and around 3.5 million streams on Apple Music and Spotify. Coupled that with airplay on radio and in parties helped pushed the song to the top spot in the dancehall space in a week. Vybz Kartel’s new single “Kremlin” produced by Rvssian is also doing very well with around 850,000 views on YouTube. That song was also released the same day that Alkaline dropped “Suave” and is currently the second most listened to dancehall song over the past week.

There is currently an intense debate among dancehall fans on social media about which of the two songs is better. You can share your thoughts in the comments below.

Cardi B Says Vybz Kartel Is Her Favorite Artist Of All Time

No it’s not Offset, Cardi B calls Vybz Kartel her favorite artist of all time.

Offset shouldn’t be jealous because he gets to sleep next to her. It’s no secret that Cardi B is a huge dancehall fan and Vybz Kartel represents the pinnacle of the genre so it’s no surprise either that he is her favorite artist. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper was in Jamaica last week to shoot a music video for a song with Rvssian and reggaeton artist Ozuna. There are already rumors of a collaboration with Vybz Kartel in the works and that was likely orchestrated by Rvssian.

Cardi B posted a screenshot of a post Vybz Kartel made on Instagram last month giving her a big shoutout. “I can cry @vybzkartel is my favorite artist of all time Me and my friends teenagehood was all about dancing to @vybzkartel #FreeVybz,” she wrote. Bardi also regularly post videos of herself vibing Vybz Kartel songs.

Cardi B is the biggest success story in hip hop this year thanks to her breakout hit single “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves).” The song peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart making her the second woman in history to top the chart with a solo record. The first female artist to achieve that success was Lauryn Hill in 1998. The former Love and Hip Hop New York star is currently working on her debut album.

Vybz Kartel continues to make his mark on dancehall six years after his incarceration. Over the last two months alone, he has released enough music to make two albums and almost all of his new singles have been hits in the dancehall space. Kartel is currently awaiting his appeal trial in February next year and he is also working on an upcoming project, due early next year.

I can cry ? @vybzkartel is my favorite artist of all time .Me and my friends teenagehood was all about dancing to @vybzkartel !!! #FreeVybz @hennessycarolina @hoodcelebrityy @lovelyyliliam

Vybz Kartel and Cardi B Collaboration Coming Soon Says Rvssian

Vybz Kartel and Cardi B dropping a new collaboration, producer Rvssian confirmed.

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper was in Jamaica last week to shoot a music video for the famed producer but seems that was not all she did in reggae land. There were some rumors floating around claiming that she visited Vybz Kartel in prison, but sources told us that did not happen. Instead, she spends some time at GeeJam villa where there is a studio and record some new music.

Over the weekend, Cardi B wrote on Instagram that Vybz Kartel is her favorite artist of all time. “I can cry @vybzkartel is my favorite artist of all time Me and my friends teenagehood was all about dancing to @vybzkartel #FreeVybz,” she wrote. She didn’t mention the new collaborative single, but what artist don’t want to work with their idol.

Rvssian and Vybz Kartel are again working on new music. Last week the longtime collaborators released the new hit single “Kremlin” featured on the producer’s new project, Moscow Riddim. The incarcerated deejay has cranked up the dial in the past two months by releasing a flurry of new singles including “Mhm Hm,” “Don’t Come Back,” and “Kremlin.”

Vybz Kartel “I Am The King and Spice The Queen of Dancehall”

Vybz Kartel has added his voice to the feud between Beenie Man and Spice over who the dancehall queen is.

The firestorm started last weekend when Beenie Man told Winford Williams on OnStage that Spice is more like a self-appointed designated queen of dancehall and not one who has the support of the vast majority of dancehall artists. Spice shot back on her Instagram page saying that Beenie Man too is a self-appointed king of the dancehall, but the real king, in her opinion, is behind bars, Vybz Kartel.

Seems the Gazanation boss has been tuning in to whats been happening and decided to add his voice to the mix. Kartel posted a comment on Spice photo on IG this morning assuring her that she is the queen. “Queen of Dancehall you look good nuh bloodcl**t,” Kartel wrote. “Queen of Dancehall in her throne drinking sperone.” Spice posted a photo of herself actually drinking Sperone.

Our Gaza sources told us that Vybz Kartel supports Spice as the queen and himself as the king. “Addi the King and Spice the queen that’s how dancehall set right now and Vybz Kartel showing that he can rule from behind bars,” sources told us. “All the old people them fi retire and stop badmind the younger acts. Addi a the king, the greatest to ever set foot on a dancehall platform no one can dispute that. Lady Saw was the queen but she gave up the throne and baptize, we wish her the best, but the only female who can fill her shoe right now is Spice.”

Listen Mavado New Track “All Night” Prod. By Chimney

Mavado link up with Chimney Records’ Jordan for a new single “All Night.”

It’s an MVP affair for Chimney this holiday season with new songs from Mavado, Alkaline and Jahmiel. The Gullyside female fans will like this new track from the gad. “Me like fi see when yo bend down and yo as up in the air / She a give me one island ride and a laugh a change the gear / Gal ready when mi tell yo say fi ride all night / Lickle red ride woulda ride her bike,” the singjay sings.

Mavado has only released a handful of new singles this year but almost all of them have been hits. The Gullyside singjay have already cemented his place in dancehall as one of the greatest to have ever done it. Earlier this year he and Vybz Kartel reignited their legendary feud but that was short lived.

Vybz Kartel Says Alkaline Owes Him Money “Time To Pay Up”

Vybz Kartel wants Alkaline to pay up all the money he owed for borrowing his style.

Kartel made the strong statement in his new song “Kremlin” produced by Rvssian. Both rival deejays released new music over the weekend and fans of both sides of the divide are weighing on which one is better. In the incarcerated deejay’s new single “Kremlin,” he took shots at Alkaline in a few lines. “Who borrow me style fi know say dem owe me pon the loan / We a mega star, so everything we do it haffi show,” Kartel deejay over the Moscow Riddim.

Alkaline has been criticized for the past few years for stealing Vybz Kartel’s style. The Vendetta deejay denied the allegations and his fans have been pushing back while also accusing the Gazanation boss of being envious of Alka’s rise in dancehall. “We all know that the blind boy thief Addi style and can’t come out with a new song unless he is copying someone style,” one fan wrote.

“As a non Vendetta or Gaza fan,” one fan wrote. “A non biased ear can’t help but to be honest that Alkaline stop following Kartel and find his own cadence and flow since his last album and a whole bunch of singles. I respect Vybz Kartel but fans use the days of him following Kartel to this day to ignorantly discredit his talent. On the other hand he had to do what he had to do because of you the same fans who make it hard for any artist to catch your attention and to show their talent without some copying or controversy.”

Vybz Kartel drops two music videos last weekend, “Don’t Come Back” and “Mhm Hm.” Alkaline released a new single “Suave” that quickly became the number one trending dancehall song on YouTube.

Watch Vybz Kartel “Mhm Hm” Video

Vybz Kartel drop three music videos this weekend but perhaps the most anticipated of all of them is “Mhm Hm.”

The single went viral following its released last month and triggered a massive sales boast for oatmeal, peanuts and Suppligen in Jamaica, that’s the power of Vybz Kartel. The cut was directed by Dameon Gayle of Terminal 4 Media. Since round the end of the summer this year, Kartel released more than a dozen new singles, but this is a fan favorite. He also released another video for his single “Don’t Come Back.”

Vybz Kartel received some criticisms over the summer from some dancehall fans for not releasing enough new music. Now that he has responded to fans plea for more new material, they can’t get enough. “Mhm Hm” received close to 3.5 million views on YouTube in the first month of being released, clocking roughly 1 million views per week.

Vybz Kartel Appeal Progressing Very Well Says Attorney

Vybz Kartel appeal case is progressing very well according to one of his attorneys Valerie Neita Robertson.

The trial is set to commence in the Jamaica Appeal Court in February of next year, but there are still some doubts among the dancehall artist’s fans about whether or not he will be vindicated. Currently, there are not a lot of faith in the Jamaican justice system, but Kartel’s attorneys have expressed confidence in winning the case come next year.

“The appeal is progressing pretty well, we have seen some delays, but don’t worry about that, that is on the management and administrative side, but other than that, things are progressing well,” Neita Roberston told Loop. “We have certain things to do within a prescribed time and it will be done.” The veteran lawyer added that the defense team is going into the trial well prepared and will be very detailed in their argument on why he was not given a fair trial.

Vybz Kartel, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones were convicted in 2014 of the murder of their friend Clive “Lizard” Williams. All four men are currently serving life sentences for the gruesome murder where the victim’s body was never found. The murder trial sparked a lot of controversies and most fans of the artists are left with an impression that he was not given a fair trial. There were issues of police intimidating witnesses and tampering with evidence, as well as, a well-publicised issue of one juror attempting to bribe the forewoman to return a not guilty verdict. That juror, Livingston Caine, is currently on trial for corruption and conspiracy and could face up to three years in prison.

If he loses the appeal, Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, will have to serve 35 years before being eligible for parole. He already served six years.

Vybz Kartel – All Aboard [New Music] | Listen

Vybz Kartel debut his new hustle anthem “All Aboard” a catchy single produced by TJ Records.

Earlier this week, the imprisoned dancehall star announced that he will be debuting the new single on Irie FM on Friday and all day yesterday DJ Wayne was spinning the new track. “Am so intriguing get the vision and wake up me do it / Run the boat spring cleaning money move hit season / Honeymoon this even no money marriage a mi dirty habit and me clean,” Kartel deejay.

“All Aboard” is also available for streaming on Apple Music. Sources inside the Gaza told us that Kartel is already prepping to drop more new music come next week. “We have more new music coming its a total dancehall domination this season stay tune,” our source said. We’re also told that the videos for “Mhm Hm” and “Don’t Come Back” will arrive sometime in the next two weeks. Vybz Kartel posted a preview of the two videos on IG yesterday hyping up his fans.

While his songs dominates the airwaves, Vybz Kartel is gearing up for his appeal trial in February of next year. The “Fever” deejay is confident that he will be vindicated of murder when his case is concluded in the appeal court.

Vybz Kartel Dropping New Single “All Aboard” On Friday

Vybz Kartel is far from being done dropping new music. The aced dancehall star will be dropping a new song “All Aboard” this Friday.

Kartel has been dropping around two songs a week since around the end of August and he is showing no signs of slowing down. Our Gaza sources told us that a major project is on the way but in the meantime, fans can enjoy a regular supply of new singles. “We are working on a big project, some big, much bigger than any previous album Worl’Boss release,” sources said. “Look out for a new banger this Friday on premiere on Irie FM.”

The incarcerated deejay also announced the new single “All Aboard” on his Instagram page. The track was produced by TJ Records, who is also the producer behind his new project. The track will be premiered by DJ Wayne on Irie FM on Friday afternoon. “LISTEN NOW.. You either ON the boat with the ballers n b**ches… or you UNder the boat with the sharks n fishes! #Dj Wayne premier this Friday on #IRIEFM ALL ABOARD ALL ABOARD,” Vybz Kartel wrote.

Kartel currently has two of the hottest songs in dancehall, with “Mhm Hm” and “Don’t Come Back” racking up the views on YouTube. The song “Mhm Hm” has already amassed three million views in three weeks, clocking around a million a week.

Listen Vybz Kartel New Song “Pregnant”

Vybz Kartel has a song for every topic and his new single “Pregnant” tackles pregnancy.

The bedroom anthem was produced by CR203 productions and features Kartel rhyming over an instrumental dancehall beat. “Parents just dont understabd when yuh skin out yuh friends video for yuh man / Mi send back mi john pun two phone / Cause dah screwn deh too small and / Mi baddy too long yuh understand / Love how yuh girl it voraciously,” the Gaza boss deejay.

In another line, Vybz Kartel deejay about what he plans to do with his girl in the bedroom. “Right now dis yah backshot / Wicket like when stinga dem a war rat bat / Dung inna yuh lane yuh log pon mi laptop / Knock knock batty jaw guh yuh clap clap,” he deejays.

Since last month, Vybz Kartel has been dropping at least two songs per week following a brief period of dormancy. The incarcerated deejay was relatively quietly during the summer months, but then his fans started to complain about not getting any new music. All of that changed as soon as the summer was over.

Vybz Kartel’s “Mhm Hm” Hit 3 Million Views In Less Than A Month

Vybz Kartel single “Mhm Hm” is the hottest new single in dancehall currently and has already hit three million views in less than a month.

It’s been three weeks since Vybz Kartel drop the infectious new single and already it’s the most popular song in dancehall both in Jamaica and overseas. The track is currently clocking around a million views on YouTube per week and showing no signs of slowing down. Kartel’s team is currently shooting the visuals for the song which will arrive later this month.

“We are shooting that video now so you can expect it late October,” sources told Dancehallhiphop.com. “The video will be fun just like the single is fun and catchy. Right now ‘Mhm Hm’ is the most requested song in parties and on radios. You can say that this will be the biggest dancehall song of the year. No other have a song that gain so much traction so fast this year.”

Aidonia fans might not agree with that assessment since his single “Yeah Yeah” is also a monster hit this year and gain a lot of traction in dancehall very fast.

Popcaan Calls Alkaline a “Wanna Be Don”

Popcaan is once again making his feelings towards Alkaline be known.

While Alkaline and Vybz Kartel fights over the dancehall “donship” title, Popcaan is choosing his side and natural he sided with the Gazanation don. The Unruly Boss took some shots at his dancehall rival over the weekend referring to him as a “wanna be don.” “So f***ing unruly Nuh Likkle wanna be don can’t fool me #outside,” Poppy wrote.

In case you were off the grid for a good minute, last week Alkaline and Vybz Kartel went buck heads while proclaiming themselves to be the don of dancehall. So Beenie Man already takes the king title and Bounty Killer takes the general title. Now it’s all about the “one don.” Kartel released a new single “Don’t Come Back” where he not only rip his baby mama but also proclaim himself as the don. “One don one don that’s me / Kartel, Worl’ Boss or Teach / Run street whether black or bleach,” he rhymes.

It didn’t take long after the song’s release for Alkaline to post on IG calling himself “1 Don.” Now it’s Popcaan’s turn to say something, and while he didn’t bestow the title onto himself, he basically said Vybz Kartel is the true don, not surprisingly.

Vybz Kartel Protege Shawn Storm Going After Alkaline On New Track

Vybz Kartel‘s most loyal protege, Shawn Storm, is dropping a new single where he will go after Alkaline.

Back in June, Shawn Storm stunned dancehall when he released a scathing diss track aimed at Popcaan. The was clearly recorded recently since it sampled Nicki Minaj new Remy Ma diss track “No Frauds.” Now the incarcerated Gaza deejay is turning his attention to Alkaline who happens to be also on Kartel’s radar.

A preview of the song popped up on social media this week and a few of the lines clearly are aimed at the Vendetta leader. “Everybody mi ago kill everybody / All dah one deh weh sound like addi mad? / Everything wa the boss do you want fi do,” Shawn Storm deejay. Gazanation sources are saying that a animated music video will accompany the song sometime this month. The song is tentatively titled “Full Clip Load.”

Shawn Storm has been slowly dropping new music on the scene and just last month he released a new collaborative track “Affi Prosper” with Konshens. Storm, whose real name is Shawn Campbell, is currently serving a life sentence for the same murder conviction as Vybz Kartel. He will be eligible for parole in 25 years.

Listen Masicka New Hit Song “Energy”

Masicka is getting his “Energy” up before the new year because he is planning to conquer dancehall in 2018.

The Genahsyde deejay teams with J1 Production for his latest dancehall banger “Energy.” “Spliff a light the energy right / Gal a whine so the energy bright / Money nuff so the energy right / And we no new to this, we do it every night / Guns deh ya so the energy right,” Masicka deejay.

Masicka has been having a phenomenal year with a number of hit records this year. He also scored one of dancehall’s biggest single this year “InfraRed” a collaboration with Vybz Kartel. He also got some attention for a few diss records aimed at Aidonia, but that beef never materialized because the 4thGenna deejay decided not to engaged Masicka.

NotNice Speaks On Killing Of Vybz Kartel Protege

NotNice is speaking out on the killing of Vybz Kartel‘s protege Gaza Maxwell.

The former Gazanation deejay was stabbed to death last month at a studio in Springfield, St Thomas. Police officers are actively investigating the murder but have not yet made an arrest. Producer NotNice says Maxwell’s death is a big blow for him because he was someone he worked with closely in the past. “Me stress out because is somebody me used to work closely with from Gaza days, so fi hear this, and the way him dead, it messed up,” the beat maker said. “Gaza Maxwell didn’t deserve to die that way. He was a good youth.”

NotNice says that it was Vybz Kartel who lead him to work with Gaza Maxwell and the last song that they did together was “Miss You” which is a rest in piece song featured on the Eternal Riddim. After Kartel disbanded Portmore Empire in 2012, Gaza Maxwell then moved to St. Thomas to further pursue his music. “Mi nuh voice ‘fool fool’ artiste, and Kartel nah go recruit ‘fool fool’ artiste, either. And a really Kartel did bring him come as a part of the Empire,” NotNice added. “Kartel say him (Maxwell) did remind him a the Festival man, Eric Donaldson, and a so comes me get fi voice him.”

Vybz Kartel learned about Gaza Maxwell’s murder while in the hospital last month. Sources say the dancehall star is hurt by the news.

Alkaline Vs Vybz Kartel: Who Is The Real “1 Don” ?

Alkaline and Vybz Kartel are the two top rivals in dancehall currently and lately they are both fighting over the “1 Don” moniker.

Over the past few years, Alkaline has called himself other monikers like Young Lawd and Torch, while Vybz Kartel called himself The Teacher and Worl’Boss. Now both deejays are referring to themselves as the 1 Don of dancehall. The term one done means that you are the top artist in the genre currently and fans of both sides will say that their artist is the leading act.

Vybz Kartel released a new single “Don’t Come Back” last week where he deejays about being the only one done in dancehall. “One don one don that’s me / Kartel, Worl’ Boss or Teach / Run street whether black or bleach / Or if me say be my first G / Me stop tell girls ’bout faithful / ‘Cause they will do what they want / But since we broke up, I’m so strong,” Kartel deejay. The last two lines are believed to be a shot at his baby mama.

Alkaline then posted a photo of himself in the studio on Instagram over the weekend which he captioned “1 Don.”

Since the start of the year, both Alkaline and Vybz Kartel have released diss tracks against each other but not on the level of the Gully/Gaza feud of the mid-2000s. Kartel’s camp has also been very vocal about Alkaline imitating some of the deejay’s style and using shock-value to gain more notoriety like skin bleaching, controversial lyrics, and the infamous eyeball tattoo which turns out to be fake.

Since breaking onto the scene in 2013, Alkaline has made a name for himself in dancehall with a vast catalog of hit songs. Although his musical catalog is nowhere near as large of Vybz Kartel’s, Alkaline name often arrives in conversation with other top dancehall acts like Vybz Kartel, Mavado, and Popcaan.

Tommy Lee Sparta Talks Vybz Kartel and Working On New Album

Tommy Lee Sparta is speculating if stress from being locked up is the reason for Vybz Kartel‘s recent health issues.

Kartel spent a week in the hospital last week for a severe kidney infection. He is currently back behind bars, but his family members are deeply concerned about his health. Tommy Lee spoke with What’s Up where he expressed his shock and concerns for his former mentor’s health. “Vybz Kartel in the hospital me no know if it’s stress cause it,” he said.

“Me just wish him a speedy recovery yo see me, just want the dog [Vybz Kartel] forward a road and be there for his kids because they are turning into men now and they need him to guidance,” Sparta added. Tommy Lee also said that he is currently working on his debut album which will be comprised of only new singles. Seems the new album will be part of his new deal with Sean Kingston’s label.

“Look like they need an album so it me a work on right now,” he said. “I start to work on the album already. Pure new songs and these songs are different levels of songs because of the type of riddim a some big producers in America I am voicing for.”

Tommy Lee Sparta didn’t revealed the title or release date for the album.

Vybz Kartel Released From UWI Hospital Back To Prison

Vybz Kartel was released from the University Hospital of the West Indies last night and was escorted back to prison.

The “Mhm Hm” deejay spent a week getting treatment for a severe kidney infection at the UWI Hospital. Dancehall HipHop learned that he was visited by his mother, his wife and kids, and his attorney. Sources told us that he is in good spirit and is feeling much better than a week ago when he was rushed to the emergency room after complaining about feeling severe pain in his side.

Vybz Kartel, whose government name is Adidja Palmer, is currently serving life for a murder conviction back in 2014. Fortunately for him, an appeal court judge gave his attorneys the green light to proceed with his appeal case which is set for February next year. His lead attorney, Tom Tavares-Finson, has expressed confidence in winning the appeal trial and getting the artist freedom.

Vybz Kartel and his three co-accused, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Kahira Jones, and Andre ST John, have all maintained their innocence. During the controversial trial, his attorneys argued in court that police officers tampered with evidence used to convict the four men, and even intimidated a witness for the defense. The murder victim, Clive “Lizard” William, body was never found. The prosecution played audio recordings in court where the accused men discussed the murder while revealed that William’s body was dismembered and disposed of in the sea.

Some people inside Kartel’s circle are alleging that someone inside of the prison might have poisoned the dancehall star. We reached out to police sources who told us that there are no reports or active investigation into the allegation. Kartel has been behind bars since 2011, and this is his third time visiting the hospital for an illness since his incarceration. Get well soon Addi.

Vybz Kartel and Bounty Killer Dropping New Collaboration This Week

Vybz Kartel and Bounty Killer have a new collaboration coming as early as this week.

The two dancehall legends have collaborated in the past on several singles, and Kartel even wrote a few hits for Bounty Killer in the early 2000s. But a bitter fallout between The Teacher and The Alliance put an end to their relationship in 2005. Seems they are both putting their differences aside and are making music again. The two deejays announced on Instagram over the weekend that they are dropping a new joint.

“[Bounty Killer] My daddy weh dem a go do when the #killakartelkollab drop?” Vybz Kartel wrote on IG. Killer responded saying, [Vybz Kartel] Beta dem just go find some weh go lidung or drop dung b4 it drop because when it drop nutn naah git up back dawg.”

Killer also said the collaboration will bring back some memories from their all-black Alliance days. Sources inside the Gaza told Dancehall HipHop that Bounty Killer recently paid Vybz Kartel a visit in prison and the two had a long conversation about their Alliance days and what’s happening in dancehall currently. They didn’t release the title of the single, but it will arrive sometime this week.

Vybz Kartel also posted a throwback photo of himself, Wayne Marshall, and Bounty Killer while clapping back at some recent reports about his weight. “Me , big Breda and DADDY!!! #AllianceDays …BTW dem say me get skinny. Apart from 2014 family day pic at horizon, when was VybzKartel ever fat? Smh #AllianceToGaza,” he wrote.

Ishawna Dials Up With Raunchy Video “Equal Rights”

Ishawna cramps up the dial with her new raunchy music video “Equal Rights.”

Back in May, Ishawna released her raunchy new single “Equal Rights” and immediately she started getting a lot of backlash from both dancehall fans and the church community. Those criticisms is not slowing her down because she just drop the visuals for the track and lets just say its rated R. That means she is not listening to her critics and is even thinking about cranking up the volume.

The cut was directed by Terminal 4 Media and Ishawna herself and features the dancehall diva living out her fantasy. She used her long hair and her costar to barely hide her goods. Some fans are calling for the video to be removed from YouTube while some females fans are saying that they like what Ishawna is doing. “Mi love it when the man them brave up …. girl kill them and done mi just wah wine pan a bwoy tongue right now…. hey bwoy come yah with your tongue?,” Nordia Davis wrote in the comments.

Some fans are arguing that male dancehall artists like Vybz Kartel and Alkaline have been singing about similar subjects for years and there have been no backlash.

Watch Vybz Kartel In Prison In Busta Rhymes & Tory Lanez “Girlfriend” video

Busta Rhymes drop the video for his Vybz Kartel and Tory Lanez-assisted single “Girlfriend.”

This is perhaps the first time that Vybz Kartel is making a live appearance in a music video since his arrest in 2011. The world has been waiting for this moment and it’s finally here thanks to Busta Rhymes. The video features cameos from a bunch of local Jamaican dancehall celebrities like Beenie Man, Foota Hype, Junior Reid, Spice, and Bounty Killer.

The cut was directed by Benny Boom and Busta Rhymes and starts out with Beenie Man picking up the hip-hop legend at the airport with his fleet of luxury vehicles. Busta then link up with his crew on a yacht and hit the Jamaican waters. The rapper then link up with some dancehall godfathers before visiting Vybz Kartel at the maximum security Tower Street Prison, aka GP. The cut features the incarcerated dancehall star behind bars while delivering a killer verse. Everyone is wondering how Busta Rhymes manage to get that cut, still a mystery, but this is Jamaica.

Busta then left from the prison and link up Foota Hype party in Kingston with Tory Lanez and the rest of the dancehall crew, including Spice, Bounty Killer, Ninja Man, and Junior Reid. The single “Girlfriend” was released over the summer on Conglomerate Entertainment and Epic Records labels.

Was Vybz Kartel Poisoned In Prison? Illness More Serious Than Reported

Vybz Kartel kidney infection is much more serious that we previously reported and some people in his circle are saying that he might have been poisoned in prison.

The “Fever” deejay has been hospitalized for a week now with a severe case of kidney infection. Sources close to the deejay’s family told DancehallHipHop that doctors have been running numerous tests on him to get to the bottom of his sickness. “They are still running tests on him, they did blood test and a number of other tests, so we are now waiting to hear the results,” sources said.

“He is complaining about feeling a lot of pain, but he is getting pain killers,” sources added. We’re told that his family particularly his wife and kids are very worried about his health because this is the first time that he has ever been this sick. “Everyone is worried because it seems like his condition is much worst than what they are telling, it’s like the doctors are hiding something from us,” our source said. “Kartel never had a kidney problem before so right now we are even wondering if someone poisoned him because they attempted to do it before.”

In 2015, prison authorities foiled a murder plot against Vybz Kartel when an inmate smuggled knives and a poisonous substance inside a section of the prison. Two bottles of an unknown poisonous substance were allegedly smuggled in by an ancillary worker inside the prison. Kartel is only a few months away from his appeal trial and his attorneys have expressed confidence in getting him released when that trial concludes. There are chatters that someone does not want the artist to be free and are actively trying to do something nefarious.
