Charly Garcia – La Sal No Sala Lyrics

[Letra de “La Sal No Sala” ft. Juanse]

Omb Peezy – Reminder Lyrics

[Intro]
But I need that choppa now I see you boy, hahaha
Drum Dummie make the beat and I’m gon’ kill it
Oh, oh, oh

[Chorus]

Don’t care about clothing, that’s just a reminder
She wanna hug but them diamonds gon’ blind her
I told her I wanna see what behind her
I gotta play all my enemies closer than close cause they can be closer than I think
I told myself I can’t be sippin’ that syrup, that Karo and shit gotta watch what I drink
But I’m still sippin’ they say I’m trippin’
And if I aim the pole and blow I ain’t missin’
She still goin’ think she rollin’
Bust it open, bust it open

[Verse 1]
Look, I came up from nothin’, now I’m rockin’ designer
Don’t care about clothing, that’s just a reminder
I told her I wanna see what behind her
Don’t play it close cause them diamonds gon’ blind her
I gotta play all of my enemies closer than close even closer than my folks
Cause some of my enemies might be my folks

A thug til’ I die, it ain’t on me it’s in me
A thug til’ I die, it ain’t on me it’s in me
Whenever I die I’mma die with my semi

A nigga cross me then get hit wit’ the weapon

I kill you wherever you met me
I don’t really like textin’
Ain’t talkin’ money I won’t read your message
The money piling and I ain’t stressin’
I swear the money pilin’ I ain’t stressin

[Chorus]
Look, I came up from nothin’, now I’m rockin’ designer
Don’t care about clothing, that’s just a reminder

She wanna hug but them diamonds gon’ blind her
I told her I wanna see what behind her
I gotta play all my enemies closer than close cause they can be closer than I think
I told myself I can’t be sippin’ that syrup, that Karo and shit gotta watch what I drink
But I’m still sippin’ they say I’m trippin’
And if I aim the pole and blow I ain’t missin’
She still goin’ think she rollin’
Bust it open, bust it open

[Verse 2]
Think she rollin, she still goin’
Bust it open, I say bust it open
Baby, I can’t focus, I’m so loaded
But I’m still pourin’, and I’m still smokin’
Cup full of drink I ain’t worried bout a thing
Nigga run up on me playin’, Imma bust a nigga brain
My youngin’s screamin’ gang gang, OGs on the same thing
60 out the window screamin’ murder with the flame
I spray the whole clip, Peezy workin’ with some aim
We cut ’em out the gang he was workin’ with them lames

Aye throw that for a young nigga like me
Can’t get ya hoe back cause she wit’ a nigga like me
They stoppin’ for a nigga like me
Drop it for a nigga like me
Promise, You don’t wanna fight me
Clutchin’, shit, bitch I might be
4 shots inna white T
Smoke a high troop, drinking Hi-C

[Chorus]
Came up from nothin’, now I’m rockin’ designer
Don’t care about clothing, that’s just a reminder
She wanna hug but them diamonds gon’ blind her
I told her I wanna see what behind her
I gotta play all my enemies closer than close cause they can be closer than I think
I told myself I can’t be sippin’ that syrup, that Karo and shit gotta watch what I drink
But I’m still sippin’ they say I’m trippin’
And if I aim the pole and blow I ain’t missin’
She still goin’ think she rollin’
Bust it open, bust it open

Ultimo – Poesia Senza Veli Lyrics

[Ritornello]

[Ritornello]
Uoo-oo-ooh, uoo-oo-ooh, uoo-oo-ooh
Uoo-oo-ooh, uoo-oo-ooh, uoo-oo-ooh

[Strofa 2]
Ehi
Qualcosa per i tuoi giorni
Quando ti chiamo e ti chiedo

Più o meno per che ora ritorni
E tu sei nel traffico e strilli
Perché ti senti incastrata
Però poi torni e sorridi
Perché sai che in fondo è passata
Io lo capisco
Che a volte ti manca tuo padre
Io nei tuoi occhi lo leggo
Vorresti avere avuto un Natale
Non tanto per un regalo
Ma per sentirti un regalo
Che per qualcuno vali
E sei il diamante più raro
Per me sei questo
Per me sei questo e altro
E non nascondere le lacrime
Che tanto scendono in basso
Tu falle cadere fino
A che non diventano fango
Poi ritorna in quel posto
Ci sarà una rosa e sarà maggio
Vorrei
Che ti guardassi con i miei occhi
Vorrei

Uoo-oo-ooh, uoo-oo-ooh, uoo-oo-ooh
Uoo-oo-ooh, uoo-oo-ooh, uoo-oo-ooh
(Uoo-oo-ooh, uoo-oo-ooh, uoo-oo-ooh)
(Uoo-oo-ooh, uoo-oo-ooh, uoo-oo-ooh)

Roberto Goyeneche – Gricel Lyrics

No debí pensar jamás
En lograr tu corazón
Y sin embargo te busqué
Hasta que un día te encontré
Y con mis besos te aturdí
Sin importarme que eras buena…
Tu ilusión fue de cristal
Se rompió cuando partí
Pues nunca, nunca más volví…
¡Qué amarga fue tu pena!

No te olvides de mí
De tu Gricel
Me dijiste al besar
El Cristo aquel
Y hoy que vivo enloquecido

Porque no te olvidé
Ni te acuerdas de mí…
¡Gricel! ¡Gricel!

Me faltó después tu voz
Y el calor de tu mirar
Y como un loco te busqué
Pero ya nunca te encontré
Y en otros besos me aturdí…
¡Mi vida toda fue un engaño!
¿Qué será, Gricel, de mí?
Se cumplió la ley de Dios
Porque sus culpas ya pagó
Quien te hizo tanto daño

Boomdabash – Don’t Worry Lyrics

[Testo di “Don’t Worry”]

[Strofa 1]
Quanto tutta questa sabbia finirà
Il sole esploderà come tutte le stelle
Don’t worry, don’t worry
Vorrei scocciare questo velo bianco dal cielo
Per vedere il cielo come appare davvero
Don’t worry, don’t worry
E sconfiggere i mostri
E sussurrarti piano all’orecchio
Don’t worry, don’t worry

[Strofa 2]
Don’t worry

[Strofa 3]
Guarda quanti bimbi a giocare giù in piazza
Con gli zainetti hanno fatto una porta
Fanno casino e una vеcchia s’incazza

Don’t worry, don’t worry
Don’t worry

[Outro]
Le galassie irraggiungibili alla fermata del tram
Don’t worry, don’t worry
Dagli abissi del Pacifico a questo bar
Don’t worry, don’t worry
Don’t worry, don’t worry

Halsey Says the Recording Academy Demands ‘Bribes’ for Grammys Nominations and Awards

In a since-deleted Instagram post, Halsey criticized the Recording Academy’s behind-the-scenes operations – including by stating that the organization accepts “bribes” for Grammys nominations and awards.

The New Jersey-born artist’s firmly worded criticism of the Recording Academy arrives just days after The Weeknd took aim at the 63-year-old entity, calling the Grammy Awards “corrupt.” Like Halsey, whose Manic effort was the first album of 2020 to be certified Platinum by the RIAA, The Weeknd and his chart-topping After Hours record failed to receive a single nomination ahead of the 2021 Grammys.

Multiple artists backed The Weeknd, though Recording Academy interim President and CEO Harvey Mason Jr. responded to the corruption allegations by indicating that the “Starboy” creator’s lack of nominations was a natural byproduct of the Grammys voting process.

Halsey – who’s received two Grammy nominations to date, but has yet to win the award – begins her Instagram message on the Grammys snub by emphasizing that many individuals had reached out to offer words of support. Consequently, the 26-year-old, whose full name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, wanted to choose her words “carefully.”

From there, Halsey characterizes the Grammys as “an elusive process” and relays that success at the awards show “often” results from private performances, “knowing the right people,” and campaigning “with the right handshakes and ‘bribes’ that can be just ambiguous enough to pass as ‘not-bribes.’”

“And if you get that far,” continues the “Without Me” artist, “it’s about committing to exclusive TV performances and making sure you help the Academy make their millions in advertising on the night of the show.”

This comment is particularly noteworthy because some have suggested that The Weeknd’s Super Bowl LV halftime show – which is set to take place one week after the 63rd Grammy Awards ceremony – contributed to his receiving zero nominations. The Weeknd himself also mentioned the possibility, which Harvey Mason Jr. denied, stating that the voting process had concluded before the public announcement of The Weeknd’s halftime-show spot.

Worth noting, however, is that Jay-Z – whose wife, Beyoncé, received the most 2021 Grammy nominations of any artist – had likely worked for some time to finalize The Weeknd’s headlining slot, given his Roc Nation company’s partnership with the NFL.

In closing, Halsey suggests that the Grammys aren’t “always about the music or quality or culture,” states that both The Weeknd and her Manic album deserved better, and expresses a desire for “more transparency or reform” at the Recording Academy. “But I’m sure this post will blacklist me anyway,” concludes Halsey, who scored a major Budweiser sponsorship deal last month.

At the time of publishing, Harvey Mason Jr. hadn’t publicly responded to Halsey’s claims. But as the interim Recording Academy head addressed The Weeknd’s condemnation of the Grammys – which, unlike Halsey’s criticism, remains live on social media – he may well issue a public comment on the subject.

Since former Recording Academy head Deborah Dugan stepped down last year (levying allegations of corruption, sexual harassment, and a corresponding lawsuit on her way out), the Grammys organizer has taken a number of reform-minded steps – including renaming awards categories, hiring a chief diversity officer, and retooling eligibility requirements.

Net Neutrality Reversal Incoming – FCC Chairman Ajit Pai Out January 20

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai is stepping down on January 20.

Pai oversaw the repeal of the U.S. net neutrality rules and oversaw a series of spectrum auctions. Pai confirmed he plans to step down from his post as the incoming President-elect Joe Biden is inaugurated. The 2017 FCC repeal of net neutrality was decided along strictly partisan lines, with a 3-2 ruling. Net neutrality barred internet service providers from blocking or slowing internet content. It also prevented them from offering paid ‘fast lanes’ of data to users.

The departure of FCC Chairman Ajit Pai is standard – the FCC Chairman usually leaves when the administration changes parties. Pai took over from Tom Wheeler, who chaired the commission during the Obama years. So far, the incoming Biden administration has not named a replacement for FCC Chairman.

In a memo, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai thanked his colleagues and highlighted his accomplishments.

“Together, we’ve delivered for the American people over the past four years: closing the digital divide; promoting innovation and competition, from 5G on the ground to broadband from space; protecting consumers, and advancing public safety,” the memo begins.

“I am proud of how productive this commission has been, from commencing five spectrum auctions and two rural broadband reverse auctions in four years to opening 1,245 megahertz of mid-band spectrum for unlicensed use, to adopting more than 25 orders through our Modernization of Media Regulation initiative, to aggressively protecting our communications networks from national security threats at home and abroad, to designating 988 as the three-digit number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, and much, much more.”

He continues to highlight the auction of several key spectrums for expanding broadband. But absent from the memo is the repeal of the FCC’s net neutrality rules established in 2015. A new administration will likely revisit the rules, as they’re intended to end discrimination between competing services.

Net neutrality rules prevent dishonest activity like ISPs slowing traffic from Netflix or Spotify. Or requiring users to select which websites they want regular access to, like those old cable packages.

So who will replace Ajit Pai as FCC Chairman during the Biden administration? There have been several names floated by political insiders, but no one favorite has emerged yet.

It will be interesting to see how the incoming administration handles net neutrality. Will those rules revert to their 2015 state when they were implemented? Or will the admin seek to expand net neutrality’s definition?

Spotify Stealing Snapchat Stories Feature For Its App – But Why?

Spotify is the latest app to shamelessly lift the Snapchat Stories concept. But why?

Twitter just finished implementing the 24-hour disappearing stories feature that it calls ‘Fleets.’ No doubt Spotify will have a catchy name for this feature when it goes live to the general public.

For now, the feature was spotted by YouTube gamer TmarTn. After searching for Christmas music, Spotify recommended a new option to “tap to see the story.” Tapping the Spotify Stories brought up a video of celebrities sharing their favorite Christmas tunes. The interface is a bog-standard copy of the Snapchat Stories feature.

Spotify now joins Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Twitter – they all have this annoying ‘feature’ now.

We’ve known that Spotify has been working on a feature like Stories since 2019. App reverse engineer Jane Wong described the feature in a series of tweets after discovering a Q&A session with Norweigan singer Sigrid. The interview mentioned a Spotify Stories feature that is now arriving on public testing channels.

You can test the feature yourself to see if you’re in on the Spotify Stories public beta. Just search for the Christmas Hits playlists and then tap the Spotify profile image to see the Christmas story Spotify has going. For now, the feature doesn’t mean users can share their favorite music via story, but you can bet it’s heading that way. Spotify has eyes on how important TikTok has become for music discovery.

Part of that is the short-form viral videos, but it’s also the music-adjacent nature of the social network. Transforming the Spotify app experience into more than just an interface for music keeps eyeballs in the app. It’s the first step of morphing Spotify into more than just a destination for music and podcasts.

As a music and podcast listener, changes like this are annoying. I open the Spotify app to choose a playlist or a podcast I want to hear. I don’t care that my college roommate is obsessing over Ghost or that my friend’s husband is freshly discovering the ska genre. Most users want a curated music experience that is slowly becoming obsolete as music apps and social networks become indistinguishable from one another.

Spotify is the oft-recommended alternative for former Google Play Music users. I’m not sure how long that will be the case if more of these ‘social features’ make their way into the app. The algorithm-led front page is already a travesty; adding Spotify Stories is the last thing it needs.

Stormzy Signs With Universal Music Group’s Just-Launched ‘0207 Def Jam’

London-born rapper Stormzy has signed with Universal Music Group’s newly launched 0207 Def Jam label.

Universal Music Group and 0207 Def Jam unveiled the high-profile signing this morning, in a formal statement emailed to Digital Music News. The addition of Stormzy to the 0207 Def Jam roster arrives just five days after the “new frontline label” debuted on the music stage. Twins and industry execs Alex and Alec Boateng are serving as co-presidents at the UK Def Jam division, which follows UMG’s late-May rollout of Def Jam Africa.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic’s onset, Stormzy had been slated to headline the first day of Reading and Leeds. The much-coveted top billing materialized after the success of 2019’s Heavy Is the Head – which, it bears mentioning, the BBC Music Award winner Stormzy released via Warner Music Group’s Atlantic Records UK. Earlier this month, the 27-year-old – who recently appeared in Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs: Legion and played McDonalds’ I’m Lovin’ It Live – released a tracked entitled “Flavour” with Loski.

0207 Def Jam’s announcement didn’t include a statement from Stormzy, who deleted his Instagram and Twitter accounts back in February. And at the time of publishing, the three-time BRIT Award recipient hadn’t yet taken to Facebook to officially acknowledge the deal.

The establishment of Def Jam Africa and 0207 Def Jam represent just some of Universal Music Group’s noteworthy strategic moves to this point in 2020. And with the Big Three label set to debut on the public market sometime in 2022, according to majority owner Vivendi, it appears that these far-reaching efforts are part of a larger plan to diversify and maximize earnings.

To be sure, UMG in late April revealed a massive partnership with Lego, which encompasses “the development of a new suite of Lego products” based upon the label’s many signed artists. And in a maneuver that could have a dramatic impact on the live-music sphere moving forward, Universal Music announced the details of its UMUSIC Hotel line, a collection of “music-based experiential hotel properties,” last month.

Plus, the Santa Monica-headquartered company scored a multiyear licensing agreement with Spotify, including collaboration on marketing projects. The streaming service’s CFO recently acknowledged that UMG “is willing to lean in more aggressively” on joint promotional initiatives.

Lastly, Tencent closed its 10 percent, $3.3 billion investment in Universal Music Group earlier this year. As part of the deal, the Chinese conglomerate has the option of purchasing another 10 percent stake (at the same price), but the deadline to do so – January 15th, 2021 – is fast approaching.

Spotify Employee Accused of Deleting Joe Rogan’s Alex Jones Interview

Alex Jones appears on The Joe Rogan Experience in October (photo: Digital Music News)

The temporary disappearance of a recent Joe Rogan interview with Alex Jones wasn’t an accident, according to sources within Spotify.

Last month, Joe Rogan did the unthinkable — at least in the eyes of Spotify employees demanding editorial oversight over The Joe Rogan Experience.  Rogan, who recently inked an estimated $100 million exclusive podcasting deal with Spotify, brought Alex Jones as a guest in October.  Jones was previously banned from the platform by Spotify higher-ups, though those same executives refused to remove the controversial episode despite heavy demands from activist employees.

Then, something strange happened. The episode mysteriously disappeared from the stack of Rogan’s podcasts, and share links to the podcast became inoperable. That mishap certainly seemed suspicious, though it was immediately dismissed as an accident — including by Rogan himself.

“The conspiracy about the show with the conspiracy theorist,” Rogan quipped after fans sounded the alarm.

“The episode that was uploaded to Spotify had some cache issues, and it wasn’t working correctly on some devices, so the engineers had Jamie re-upload it with the same date, thinking it would fix the problem but still play for everyone like it was never missing,” Rogan continued.

That ‘cache issues’ explanation sounded reasonable, except for one problem. As far as we’re aware, no other Spotify podcast episode had previously experienced the ‘cache issue’ mentioned. As you might expect, a lot of Rogan fans simply weren’t buying it.

Now, two sources within Spotify, specifically within podcasting subdivisions, have confirmed that at least one employee is responsible for intentionally removing the Joe Rogan episode.

The employee’s name was not released to Digital Music News, even though we agreed not to publish any identifying information. Instead, the sources decided not to share the name given that an investigation could be forthcoming, and nobody’s been proven guilty, fired, or otherwise punished.

Still, repercussions could be forthcoming. One source confidently noted that “this [removal was] definitely no accident,” while further noting that “[the evidence] is in the logs” and can be proven. Specifically, it appears that the episode was removed from the stack with an attempted permanent delete, which promulgated the cacheing issue (because there was nothing to cache anymore).

Engineers within Spotify soon started troubleshooting the issue, and eventually moved to replace the master file while alerting Rogan and his team (including his assistant Jamie) of the issue.

That last part is critical, because Rogan himself was apparently not alerted to any foul play.

Instead, a second source told us that Rogan was “fed the mumbo jumbo” related to technical concerns, with “a lotta tech jargon” to throw off the scent. That seemed to work, with Rogan himself working to dispel any notions of employee interference.

Exactly what happens next is unclear, though this looks like a touchy political subject.  The second source also noted that Spotify’s executives may not pursue the issue, given the sensitivity internally over Joe Rogan. That includes the previous ban on Alex Jones uploads, as well as a string of earlier meetings relating to Joe Rogan’s content.

Update, November 30th: Spotify has now denied any foul play in the deleted episode, attributing the issue entirely to a technical glitch. “The issue with the episode was entirely technical and any suggestion that it was a result of nefarious activity by someone on the Spotify team is completely false,” Spotify head of communications Grey Munford emailed Digital Music News, after initially requesting not to be named. After being told that server logs could be forthcoming, Munford stated: “The Spotify statement below is accurate.” More as this develops — additional sources are urged to contact [email protected]

Earlier, Spotify employees reportedly demanded that additional episodes be removed, including an interview with Abigail Shrier deemed to be transphobic (the episode is still live).  Previously, Spotify quietly omitted a number of older episodes while migrating Joe Rogan’s catalog to their platform, including an earlier discussion with Alex Jones.

At one point, the group of activist employees — largely based in New York — threatened a walkout if not given direct editorial oversight over Joe Rogan’s podcasts, though the Spotify executives pushed back and the strike never materialized.

More as this develops.

Pilot To Gunner – It’s So Good To Be Here In Paris Lyrics

Look around, around the stage just to say that you couldn't and
You touch down you hit the ground just the way that you shouldn't and
Would you see or would you say you came around that Saturday
Round the way just to say, just to say that you couldn't

And it's so good to be here in Paris
So good to see you here in
And it's so good to be here in Paris
So good to see you here in

When it all goes down you'll be able to say
Maybe you'll say you weren't lookin' when
It came down, it hit the ground
Didn't you hear, you weren't listenin'
Could you see, could you say
Really didn't hear what I was tryin' to say

Tryin' to say, tryin' to say, tryin' to say, but I couldn't

And it's so good to be here in Paris
So good to see you here in
And its so good to be here in Paris
So good to see you here in

We'll make the math work when its done
Last time we knew but what about
What about the last time
This is the, this is the last time (last time)
What about the last time we tried
Last time we knew, but what about
What about the last time, this is the, this, this is the last time
And it's so good to be here in Paris
So good to see you here in
And it's so good to be here in Paris
So good to see you here in

Steps – Something In Your Eyes Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Unstoppable, my love for you is simply irresistible
You came to me, a rainy cold November night, you came to me
I felt it in a heartbeat, only time will tell
Will we be together, will it be now and forever?

[Chorus]

Kate Havnevik – Serpentine Lyrics

Catch me as I fly
Passing by at night
Watch me as I go, outside
It's another world
When the moon is high
And the walking keeps
Me breathing

Sleepless
I shouldn't be here
Sleepless
Twenty-four hours of searching

Down the narrow streeets
I can feel the breeze
Going small and tired, like me
Drink some more of this

Feel the mroning bliss
Songs of airplanes in my head

Sleepless
I shouldn't be here
Sleepless
Twenty-four hours
Sleepless
I have I have to keep walking
Sleepless
Twenty-four hours of searching
Searching for my life

Sleepless
Sleepless
Oh sleepless
Sleepless
Sleepless

Htiekal – Island Man Lyrics

I’m Whatever’s opposite of proud
I’m either drunk or blowing on the loud
My body never fit into the crowd
As soon as you come in, im walking out
Ouch
My stomachs growling I might gain 1000 pounds
Have to hear the thunder cloud
I’m fat and f*cking ugly now
My heart is out of money now
Its funny how
When you have something
Ain’t got nothing
No-ones nowhere to be found
Fame got me felling like dead
I had a conversation with my head
f*ck traffic
I don’t need no one else
I could kill my life
And do bad all by myself

I’m
Solo, dolo
Hello, hangup

All this fetty I possess i’m obsessed with it
Got it on my own copped the home plus the lex

Prolly bound to disappear with the rest

Jafaris – Haunted Lyrics

[Chorus]
I feel haunted, I feel haunted
Like you don’t want me to move on, babe
‘Cause I keep thinkin’ about you too much, it’s unbearable
Yeah I feel haunted, I feel haunted

[Verse 1]
Bet you get a kick outta lookin’ at me now
Not in the same place you left me
I don’t even really think about the sound of your voice when you text me
Feels like we’re distant friends now, huh
The new you is not familiar to me
I think I miss the old you and me

[Bridge]
‘Cause time don’t stop, I know I can’t go back
I keep on goin’ ’cause I’m not done yet
And it’s alright if you don’t ever come back
I just keep on goin’ ’cause I’m not done yet, done yet

[Chorus]
I feel haunted, I feel haunted
Like you don’t want me to move on, babe
‘Cause I keep thinkin’ about you too much, it’s unbearable
Yeah I feel haunted, I feel haunted

[Pre-Chorus]
It’s a light, it’s a light, it’s a light, yeah
‘Cause you stay on my mind through the night, yeah
It’s a light, it’s a light, it’s a light, yeah
‘Cause you stay on my mind through the night
It’s a light, it’s a light, it’s a light, yeah
‘Cause you stay on my mind through the night, yeah
It’s a light, it’s a light, it’s a light, yeah
‘Cause you stay on my mind through the night

[Verse 2]
Why am I still lookin’ at you now?
You’re not the same as I left you
I just keep on thinkin’ about the sound of your voice when you text me
I’m so glad that we’re still friends even if we’re distant
I miss everything about you, so you haunt me (So you)

[Bridge]
‘Cause time don’t stop, I know I can’t go back (go back)
I keep on goin’ ’cause I’m not done yet (done yet)
And it’s alright if you don’t ever come back (come back)
I just keep on goin’ ’cause I’m not done yet, done yet

[Pre-Chorus]
It’s a light, it’s a light, it’s a light, yeah
‘Cause you stay on my mind through the night, yeah
It’s a light, it’s a light, it’s a light, yeah
‘Cause you stay on my mind through the night
It’s a light, it’s a light, it’s a light, yeah
‘Cause you stay on my mind through the night, yeah
It’s a light, it’s a light, it’s a light, yeah
‘Cause you stay on my mind through the night

[Chorus]
I feel haunted, I feel haunted
Like you don’t want me to move on, babe
‘Cause I keep thinkin’ about you too much, it’s unbearable
Yeah I feel haunted, I feel haunted

[Post-Chorus]
It’s a light, it’s a light, it’s a light, yeah
‘Cause you stay on my mind through the night, yeah
It’s a light, it’s a light, it’s a light, yeah
‘Cause you stay on my mind through the night
It’s a light, it’s a light, it’s a light, yeah
‘Cause you stay on my mind through the night, yeah
It’s a light, it’s a light, it’s a light, yeah
‘Cause you stay on my mind through the night

[Outro]
I feel haunted by your presence
It’s electric, but I resent it
Move more cautious
Call it what you want, but I call it toxic
Or maybe lovesick
But I feel haunted, haunted, haunted, yeah
I feel haunted, haunted, haunted, yeah

Katelyn Tarver – Young Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Spilling wine on the carpet
In your Melrose apartment
Caught up in the emotion
Go back just for a moment
Making out on your sofa
Bought yourself a Toyota
Falling with our eyes open
Feel it just for a moment

[Pre-Chorus]
Lately I been looking back debating
If we made it complicated
Or if this is just life
Life
Lately I’ve been walking on a wire
Know nostalgia is a liar
But I still miss those nights
Nights

[Chorus]
Baby, I just wanna be young (I just wanna, I just wanna)
Young (I just wanna, I just wanna)
Forever with you (I just wanna, I just wanna)
You (I just, I just, I just)
I just wanna be young (I just wanna, I just wanna)
Young (I just wanna, I just wanna)
Forever with you (I just wanna, I just wanna)
You (I just, I just, I just)

[Verse 2]
I’m still wearing your jacket
You can still make me laugh when
When we dance in the kitchen
Go back just for a minute
You know all of my sеcrets, I know all of your demons
You still say you love mе and I know you mean it
That don’t mean I can’t miss it
Feel it just for a minute

[Pre-Chorus]
Lately I been looking back debating

If we made it complicated
Or if this is just life
Life
Lately I’ve been walking on a wire
Know nostalgia is a liar
But I still miss those nights
Nights

[Chorus]
Baby, I just wanna be young (I just wanna, I just wanna)
Young (I just wanna, I just wanna)
Forever with you (I just wanna, I just wanna)
You (I just, I just, I just)
I just wanna be young (I just wanna, I just wanna)
Young (I just wanna, I just wanna)
Forever with you (I just wanna, I just wanna)
You (I just, I just, I just)

[Bridge]
(I just wanna, I just wanna)
(I just wanna, I just wanna)
(I just wanna, I just wanna)
(I just, I just, I just)

[Pre-Chorus]
Lately I been looking back debating
If we made it complicated
Or if this is just life
Lately I’ve been walking on a wire
Know nostalgia is a liar
But I still miss those nights

[Chorus]
Baby, I just wanna be young, young
Forever with you, you
I just wanna be young, young
Forever with you, you

Should Drake Play Barack Obama In an Upcoming Documentary? Obama Weighs In

Drake has already tapped himself to play Barack Obama in an upcoming biopic — Obama himself has now responded to the ‘selection’.

No, it’s not official: Drake hasn’t been chosen to play Barack Obama in an upcoming biopic. But the scuttlebutt in Hollywood — which is, of course, heavily Democratic — is that an Obama flick is ‘coming soon’. Which raises the question: who will play the ex-President?

Strategically — and presumptuously — Drake has already nominated himself. And the rapper has been angling for the role for nearly a decade.  “I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could play him,” Drake told Paper back in 2010. Of course, that won’t secure his spot in an upcoming documentary — if and when that documentary happens — though recent comments from Obama himself could help.

“You know what, Drake has — more importantly, I think — my household’s stamp of approval,”Obama recently told Complex News. “I suspect Malia and Sasha would be just fine with it.”

Drake, a Canadian import, seems to have been practicing for the role for years. “That’s the goal,” Drake relayed. “I watch all the addresses. Any time I see him on TV, I don’t change the channel. I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows me, I’m pretty good at impressions.”

Indeed, a well-played Obama could cement Drake’s status as a Hollywood actor — and truly diversify his career like older rappers Ice Cube and Ice-T.

Obama’s resounding approval of Drake follows some testy comments about rap — especially in the wake of high-profile Trump endorsements by Lil Wayne, Lil Pump, 50 Cent, and Ice Cube. Ultimately, 50 Cent dialed back his Trump endorsement and Ice Cube insisted that he wasn’t taking sides. But Lil Wayne and Lil Pump didn’t budge, and Obama seemed to take the snubs against Biden personally.

He also dismissed the endorsements as a signal that black Americans were showing any substantive support for Trump. “It’s interesting—people are writing about the fact that Trump increased his support among Black men [in the 2020 presidential election], and the occasional rapper who supported Trump,” Obama told the Atlantic.

“I have to remind myself that if you listen to rap music, it’s all about the bling, the women, the money. A lot of rap videos are using the same measures of what it means to be successful as Donald Trump is. Everything is gold-plated. That insinuates itself and seeps into the culture.”

Kid Buu – Speed Demon Lyrics

[Intro]
You mean I’m lowkey like a bee, but my hustle stay same, now

Countin’ money fast like I’m a speed demon, push start
Tell that bitch to ride it like a speed demon
I told her to ride it like a speed demon, push start
Told that bitch to ride it like a speed demon

She ride it like a hell catcher you drove me out of hell

Tell that bitch to ride it like a speed demon

Josh Abbott Band – The Luckiest Lyrics (feat. Catie Offerman)

[Verse 1: Josh Abbott with Catie Offerman]
Did I find a field of four-leaf clovers
Somewhere along the way in another life?
Did I meet a genie in a bottle?
Did I make the same wish all three times?
‘Cause I don’t know what I did
For all my stars to line up like this

[Chorus: Josh Abbott & Catie Offerman]
I’m lucky that I come from where I come from
And I’m lucky I got friends that got my back
I’m lucky God made Friday nights and cold beer
And that I’ve had all the good times that I’ve had
And I’m lucky King George still makes country records
And I’m lucky for the miles on my boots
I can’t believe the life that I’ve been given
Yeah, I’m lucky, I know it’s true
But I feel the luckiest to be loved by you

[Verse 2: Josh Abbott & Catie Offerman]
I swear, sometimes, it feels just like I’m dreaming
And if I am, please don’t wake me up
‘Cause now that I’ve kissed your lips goodnight
I don’t wanna know what it’s like

To be without your so good kind of love

[Chorus: Josh Abbott & Catie Offerman]
I’m lucky that I come from where I come from
And I’m lucky I got friends that got my back
I’m lucky God made Friday nights and cold beer
And that I’ve had all the good times that I’ve had
I’m lucky King George still makes country records
And I’m lucky for the miles on my boots
I can’t believe the life that I’ve been given
Yeah, I’m lucky, and I know it’s true
But I feel the luckiest to be loved by you

[Chorus: Josh Abbott, Both & Catie Offerman]
And I’m lucky that I come from where I come from
And I’m lucky for the miles on my boots
I can’t believe the life that I’ve been given
Yeah, I’m lucky (I’m lucky), and I know it’s true
But I feel the luckiest to be loved by you
I feel the luckiest to be loved by you (Ooh)
Loved by you (I’m the luckiest)
Loved by you

I Divide – This Ships Going Down Lyrics

Something's wrong 'cause I can see it in your eyes
And after all these years of lies I don't need this
So tell the truth 'cause I am sick of this disguise
You hide behind this mask of cries and I'm not leaving you
So how will you know
How will you know
When it's time to say
This ships going down with the storm
And I'm not going home, tonight
Will you leave when it's too late?
Will you find the words to say?
You're sinking now I've walked away
Don't be afraid to be the one to tell the truth
This broken home you're locked inside won't release you
So seek the day when you will see clear, rise up from the fear
Bleed the colours of your world
Stand up to the lies

Up to the lies
Else you'll never say
This ships going down with the storm
And I'm not going home, tonight
Will you leave when it's too late?
Will you find the words to say?
You're sinking now I've walked away
I'm here with you
Don't you be afraid
I'll stand by you
If you lead the way
So I say to myself
If you're never leaving home
Then you'll never be ok
Just use my words
If you're never leaving home
Then you'll never be ok
Unless you say
This ships going down with the storm
And I'm not going home, tonight
Will you leave when it's too late?
Will you find the words to say?
You're sinking now I've walked away

Roger Waters – The Ballad Of Jean Charles De Menezes Lyrics

All in all it’s just another brick in the wall
All in all you’re just another brick in the wall
Just another blunder
Just another lousy call
Just another clap of thunder
And apologies ring hollow
From the guilty in Whitehall

And there’s no hint of sorrow
Just the whitewash on the wall
Just one man dead
And nothing is gained
Nothing at all
And Jean Charles de Menezes remains
Just another brick in the wall

Gers Pardoel – Zomer Lyrics (feat. Jayh)

Songtekst van Gers Pardoel – "Zomer" ft. Jayh

[Intro]
J-J-JasonXM

[Pre-Chorus: Jayh]
Niks houdt onze liefde tegen

[Chorus: Gers Pardoel]
Zomer, in m'n hart is het zomer
Vier seizoenen lang zomer
Met jou is het nooit koud
Het is zomer, in m'n hart is het zomer
Vier seizoenen lang zomer
Met jou is het nooit koud

[Verse 1: Gers Pardoel]
[Pre-Chorus: Jayh]
Niks houdt onze liefde tegen

[Chorus: Gers Pardoel]
Zomer, in m'n hart is het zomer
Vier seizoenen lang zomer
Met jou is het nooit koud
Het is zomer, in m'n hart is het zomer
Vier seizoenen lang zomer
Met jou is het nooit koud

[Verse 2: Gers Pardoel]

[Pre-Chorus: Jayh]
Niks houdt onze liefde tegen
[Chorus: Gers Pardoel]
Zomer, in m'n hart is het zomer
Vier seizoenen lang zomer
Met jou is het nooit koud
Het is zomer, in m'n hart is het zomer
Vier seizoenen lang zomer
Met jou is het nooit koud

Sir Chloe – Easy On You Lyrics

I went easy on you when I didn't want to
I went easy on you when I didn’t want to
I know I'm not as tall, but god I scare you
I know I'm not as tall, but god I scare you

Coming for blood this time
Coming for blood this time

I got homework, I just want to go to sleep
Please stop knocking at my door
You’re so loud, you're always yelling at me

Jump up and down, you shake the floor

Coming for blood this time
Coming for blood this time

I went easy on you when I didn't want to
I know I'm not as tall, but god I scare you

Coming for blood this time
Coming for blood this time
Coming for blood this time

Cuentos Borgeanos – Marzo Lyrics

Jelle Verbeek – Terrified Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I know I change my mind a lot
But I think this is what I want
I know I do this on and off
But give me one more shot

[Pre-Chorus]
‘Cause this time I’ll be sure of myself
And this time I’ll be nobody else
And I’ll try to remember what he said to me

[Chorus]
“Keep your head up
You never know what’s gonna come for you
Stop
And think of what it means to you”

[Post-Chorus]
But he’s never on my side
And he’s got shit to hide
He’s never on my side
And now I’m terrified

Hmm

[Verse 2]
I trusted him with all of me
But now I wonder what I did
It wasn’t really up to me
I was only just a kid
[Pre-Chorus]
But this time I’ll takе care of myself
And this time I’ll trust nobody еlse
And I’ll try to remember what he said to me

[Chorus]
“Keep your head up
You never know what’s gonna come for you
Stop
And think of what it means to you”

[Post-Chorus]
But he’s never on my side

And he’s got shit to hide
He’s never on my side
And now I’m terrified

[Bridge]
I’ve tried writing this before but I didn’t have much luck
I’ve tried telling him before but he didn’t give a f*ck

I wanted to write about how much I love that man
But I didn’t have it in me to give up what I am

He shaped me, he made me into what I am today
But is this who I wanna be or is it all part of his game?
He’s got me all paranoid, I don’t trust anyone
He told me to run before he handed me the gun

[Chorus]
“Keep your head up
You never know what’s gonna come for you
Stop
And think of what it means to you”

[Outro]
But he’s never on my side
And he’s got shit to hide
He’s never on my side
And now I’m terrified

Never on my side
And he’s got shit to hide
He’s never on my side
And now I’m terrified

Never on my side
And he’s got shit to hide
He’s never on my side
And now I’m terrified

Nadine Shah Says She Can’t Pay Rent Despite Having More Than 100,000 Spotify Monthly Listeners

Singer-songwriter Nadine Shah recently stated that she is struggling to pay her rent despite having more than 100,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

The 34-year-old Whitburn native Nadine Shah elaborated upon her Spotify earnings situation while addressing the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee, as part of its ongoing probe into streaming royalties. DCMS Committee members unveiled their comprehensive analysis, which is specifically studying streaming’s impact upon labels, artists, “and the sustainability of the wider music industry,” last month.

Shah – who joined Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien and Elbow frontman Guy Garvey in speaking before the bipartisan House of Commons select committee – broached the subject of streaming royalties when asked whether she believes that the relationship and agreements between labels, streaming services, and others are transparent.

“I don’t feel that it is that transparent. I don’t,” said Shah. “What I do know is that the earnings from my streaming, they’re not significant enough to keep the wolf away from the door. I’m in a position as an artist with a substantial profile, a substantial fan base, is critically acclaimed, but I don’t make enough money from streaming.

“I’m in the position now where I’m struggling to pay my rent. And I’m embarrassed to talk about these issues publicly. I’m embarrassed to talk about them for many reasons. Because money, you know, sometimes to an extent is an indication of success. But here that’s not really the case I think, because I am a successful musician, but I’m just not being paid fairly for the work that I make.

“I don’t think there is enough transparency, no,” concluded the “Trad” artist. “But the bottom line for me is that, what is transparent is that I’m not being paid.”

With 101,999 monthly Spotify listeners to her credit and (and a presumably similar following on Apple Music), Nadine Shah’s claims of streaming-related financial struggles are particularly noteworthy. While her two most popular tracks on Spotify, “Evil” (2017) and “Ville Morose” (2014) have a combined total of over 3.2 million plays, the resulting royalty payments are relatively small, given the multiyear timeframe that they cover.

Factoring based upon Digital Music News’ often-cited breakdown of Spotify’s per-stream royalty rate, between $.003 and $.005, for most artists, the mentioned 3.2 million streams would have generated approximately $16,000 (on the high end). Across the nearly seven years since the release of “Ville Morose,” the royalties come out to about $2,290 annually – or just $190 monthly.

Initially, the DCMS Committee indicated that relevant stakeholders would have until the evening of Monday, November 16th to submit written testimonials pertaining to streaming. Possibly due to the information that’s come to light thus far – the session opened with the reading of an email from an artist who struggled to make ends meet while signed to a major label – officials have since extended the deadline to Friday, December 11th. The next DCMS Committee hearing concerning the economics of music streaming is slated to take place on Tuesday, December 8th.

Eric Clapton Joins the Anti-Lockdown Movement, Releases New Single With Van Morrison

Majvdl (CC by 3.0)

‘Wonderful Tonight’ singer-songwriter Eric Clapton has partnered with vocal lockdown critic Van Morrison to release a new protest track, and the work’s profits will benefit the Lockdown Financial Hardship Fund.

Eric Clapton and Van Morrison unveiled their anti-lockdown song collaboration – entitled “Stand and Deliver” – today, in a formal release that was shared with Digital Music News. Penned by the Northern Ireland native Morrison and performed by the three-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Clapton, the blues track is slated to debut next Friday, December 4th. (An 18-second preview is currently available, however.)

As mentioned, the song’s profits are set to reach Van Morrison’s Lockdown Financial Hardship Fund, which began providing eligible full-time musicians with roughly $665 (£500) payments towards November’s start. The “Brown Eyed Girl” artist supported the relief effort with a trio of anti-lockdown works – “Born to Be Free,” “As I Walked Out,” and “No More Lockdown” – and the Fund became oversubscribed just five days after rolling out.

The Lockdown Financial Hardship Fund will initiate a second round of aid – overseen and distributed once again by the Van Morrison Official Rhythm and Blues Foundation, a registered charity – early in the new year. Unemployed or self-employed musicians who earn 50 percent or more of their living from live music, are over the age of 16, and reside in the UK or Ireland, are encouraged to apply for payments (once the second phase commences) here.

Addressing his protest-track collaboration with Van Morrison in a statement, the 18-time Grammy winner Eric Clapton said: “It is deeply upsetting to see how few gigs are going ahead because of the lockdown restrictions. There are many of us who support Van and his endeavours to save live music, he is an inspiration!

“We must stand up and be counted because we need to find a way out of this mess. The alternative is not worth thinking about. Live music might never recover.”

And in a statement of his own, Van Morrison welcomed Clapton’s support and took aim at the current UK government assistance for musicians who’re unable to perform due to lockdown restrictions and large-gathering bans.

“Eric’s recording is fantastic and will clearly resonate with the many who share our frustrations,” said the 75-year-old former Them frontman. “It is heart-breaking to see so many talented musicians lack any meaningful support from the government, but we want to reassure them that we are working hard every day to lobby for the return of live music, and to save our industry.”

Earlier this month, Guns N’ Roses announced a 2021 tour in Australia and New Zealand, which are once again allowing crowd-based events – and are just days away from the start of summer. Separately, the RIAA, the NMPA, and others called on Congress this week to pass legislation benefitting members of the live-music space.

How to Get Verified on TikTok — A Step-by-Step Guide

Account verification is an important part of building your brand on social media. Here’s how to get verified on TikTok.

Verification on a social media platform means the account is an official brand channel. That’s an important distinction in today’s online world – fans want to know they’re interfacing with the real band, brand, or artist they love. It can generate more potential followers who happen to see your work. But verification isn’t for everyone and it’s not easy to get, especially on TikTok.

Verification on social media platforms is usually reserved for public figures, celebrities, brands, and publishers. How do you know if your brand is considered public enough to be verified? There are some strict requirements established by the TikTok Creator Launch Team.

Can you request account verification on TikTok?

Other social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter allow the account owner to request verification. Once requested, a dedicated moderator team takes a look at the account and the extra information provided. They decide on whether to hand out account verification based on those criteria.

The TikTok team does not allow users to request verification on the platform. Instead, they have a strict set of metrics they look at to determine whether an account meets its qualifications.

Can you buy TikTok account verification?

The short answer is no. Any service offering to get your TikTok account verified for a fee is a scam. Do not pay anyone who claims they can get your TikTok account verified in five minutes or less.

TikTok account verification is not something anyone outside of TikTok can initiate for you. Your account must meet the internal requirements established by the creator team to trigger a verification review. Only then will your account be eligible for that coveted blue checkmark.

How to Get Verified on TikTok – Requirements

TikTok expert Rachel Pederson, who works with the Creator Launch Team, has outlined some criteria the team follows. Accounts that meet these requirements are up for TikTok verification.

  • Daily Follower Growth – The TikTok account must be growing in new followers daily – anywhere between 500-2,000 followers daily.
  • Watch Time Growth – The average watch time and views for the account must be rising.
  • Media Coverage – Any accounts featured in prominent media coverage may be considered for verification.
  • Viral Content – Any account that creates content that consistently goes viral on the platform may be considered for verification.
  • Verification on Other Platforms – TikTok accounts with the same name on other social media platforms may be verified sooner. That means getting verified status on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter may help your chances of getting your TikTok account verified.

How to Increase TikTok Account Verification Chances

Great, so you can’t request verification and have to wait for TikTok to approve you. What’s the best way to bring your account to the attention of the Creator Team? Here are a few tips and tricks for how to get verified on TikTok.

Produce Consistent Content

TikTok wants to verify users that consistently use the platform to distribute their message. If you’re a guitar teacher, create engaging videos on the platform. If you’re the lead singer of your band, share a clip from your latest performance. But make sure you produce high-quality, engaging clips that are worth sharing.

Engage With Others

The TikTok Creator Team also looks at how much you use the platform yourself. If you want to use the platform to share your music, listen and like others’ music. Comment and share a link to your content online so others can find it.

Get Verified Elsewhere

If you already have an established Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter presence – great! Verification on those platforms can help get your TikTok account verified faster. Start with those platforms first since you can request verification there.

Do the Grammys Matter Anymore? The Latest Data Doesn’t Look So Hot

Are the 2021 Grammy Awards in for a rude ratings surprise? The latest data shows that fans are far less interested in the Grammys — and it’s not just because of the controversy or snubs.

The Recording Academy announced the 63rd annual Grammy Awards nominations earlier this week on Tuesday. But the announcement has been met with sharp criticism from superstar artists – and total ambivalence by the general public. First, let’s dig into what the artists are saying and how that might be impacting fans.

Almost immediately following the latest nominations, The Weeknd — who was notably absent from the list of nominees — took to Twitter to blast the Recording Academy for the nominations this year. “The Grammys remain corrupt,” the Canadian pop star wrote. “You owe me, my fans, and the industry transparency.”

Drake chimed in, defending The Weeknd’s stance while questioning the show’s relevance. “I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones that come after,” Drake tweeted. “It’s like a relative you keep expecting to fix up, but they just can’t change their ways.”

Drake’s comments on how the perception of the Grammys is changing appears to be spot-on.

Last year, the Recording Academy became mired in an ugly political battle just days before its Grammys telecast aired. The infighting witnessed the abrupt firing of then-CEO Deborah Dugan, with appropriate lawsuits and accusations dominating the days leading into the event.

The fallout was swift, with a number of superstars potentially skipping the showcase to sidestep the controversy. After the event, viewership ratings hit a 12-year low, skirting 2008 levels.

That was followed by brutal ratings drops for competing awards shows. The Billboard Music Awards, which aired in October, plunged 55% to an all-time low. Similarly, the recently-aired American Music Awards plunged 50% to another all-time low, even though viewers were theoretically glued to their couches amidst continued COVID-19 lockdowns.

People are tuning out of kudos-fests. And leading into the 2021 Grammy Awards, the preview data looks similarly foreboding.

A cursory glance at Google Search trends this year shows that public interest in The Grammy Awards is seriously waning. Whereas previous years caused quite a spike in Google Search results, this year was barely a blip. People seem to care far less about this year’s Grammy Awards – and artists appear similarly unmoved.

The large peaks in the chart above represent the actual Grammy Awards airing. But those little troughs are the Grammy Awards nominees announcements, and this year barely registered on Google Trends.

Compared with 2012 highs, Grammy Awards interest for the 2020 show was down nearly 50%.

All of that suggests that music fans are moving away from awards shows. But the continued drubbing by artists — especially on the hip hop side — isn’t helping.

Nicki Minaj recently brought up her old beef with the Recording Academy and Grammy Awards from 2012 when she was a new artist.

“Never forget the Grammys didn’t give me my best new artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on Billboard and bigger first week than any female rapper in the last decade,” the rapper wrote on Twitter. “They gave it to the white man, Bon Iver.”

After the outrage and uproar on Twitter over The Weeknd’s snub, Recording Academy interim president and CEO Harvey Mason Jr. responded. “We understand that The Weeknd is disappointed at not being nominated,” he says. “I was surprised and can empathize with what he’s feeling. His music this year was excellent, and his contribution to the music community and broader world is worthy of everyone’s admiration.”

He’s right – The Weeknd’s work is worthy of everyone’s admiration. But the Grammy Awards might not be the best way to show it anymore.
